Bone Broth
2-3 hours
1/2 gallon
Introduction
After enjoying one of our pasture-raised chickens, don’t toss the bones—save them to create a nourishing, immune-boosting bone broth. Once you’ve collected enough bones (and vegetable scraps) to fill a pot, simmer them in an Instant Pot. The result is a flavorful broth packed with health benefits!
Steps
Fill an Instant Pot about 3/4 of the way up with bones.
Cover the bones with water.
Add vegetables and herbs (OPTIONAL)
Add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar.
Press the soup button on the Instant Pot and set to low pressure. Set the time for the max of 120 minutes. Repeat this cycle for 2 to 3 times.
Let it cool and strain the juice from the bones.
Poor into mason jars (leave a few inches at the top for it to expand) or plastic bags.
Store in refrigerator for up to one week. Store in freezer too.
